Caspian Oil & Gas 2007 will be held on 5th - 8th June 2007 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The event is held under the aegis of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev who personally took part in the opening of the Caspian Oil & Gas 2006 exhibition on the 6th of June 2006.

In his Welcome speech the President of Azerbaijan said: "Dear participants of the exhibition and conference! I am happy to greet you at the International Caspian Oil and Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition held in the capital of Azerbaijan Baku city. The fact that this significant event has been successfully held for many years once again proves that the modern oil strategy developed by our National Leader Heydar Aliyev was correct. This traditional Baku forum which is increasing its influence year by year, provides ideal conditions for holding interesting discussions, demonstrating progressive achievements, staging productive negotiations and signing profitable agreements."

The foundation of the rebirth of Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector started with the signing of the "Contract of the Century" on September 20, 1994 . The exploration of the oil & gas fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli", "Shah Deniz" and completion of the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines were the most significant recent achievements in the region. Today, a year after it was commissioned, oil is being transported through it to the Ceyhan terminal named after Heydar Aliyev. This is a major historical event for the region and is globally significant
